I’ve been meaning to get around to post pics of our new place for a while. But well, you know how it is ; )
Considering how often I complained about living in the shack, I would just like to say that our new place feels like a MANSION. I am so, so happy here, and no less than once a day I will turn to Eric and say “I love our new house!”
It’s funny what a little bit of space can do to a relationship–and I mean that literally , not figuratively. Since we’ve moved, our relationship has gotten a ton better! Not that we were Ronnie and Sam beforehand, but everything has just been so at ease lately.
We’re not constantly on top of each other and that whole “I’m poor and I live in a shack” feeling has melted away too.
What’s even crazier is how much our finances have improved as well. Even though we’re paying a lot more in rent and utilities (we’ve seen a 60% increase), the money is surprisingly lasting! Even with Eric out of commission, we’ve already socked away $1200 to help tide us over until he starts bringing home a paycheck again.
Without further adieu, please say hello to our little home!
The Living Room
The Dining Room
Kitchen

Bentley’s Bed
Master Closet and Sink
These are all my clothes…
If you’re wondering where Eric keeps his clothes…they’re in
The Man Room
This is the man closet. Yup, his and hers closets! If you’re wondering WHY we have separate closets, this is why:
This was the OTHER side of his closet–piled high with dirty clothes. It has since been washed and put away.
This is the rest of the “man room”:
And that’s pretty much our whole place!
The only things not pictured are the one-car garage, the laundry room, and the small backyard.

YAY!
Oh god yes. Having a house with a garage, living room, real kitchen, a deck and sunlight did wonders for both of us. Our old place was great for some time but moving was the right choice.
Congrats!!! Everything looks beautiful! (I especially love your living room decor.) Maybe the shack was worth it so you guys could end up here :-D! xoxo
Looks great! I love your outfit in the bathroom pic too BTW! Congratulations!
Loving the new digs! Especially enamoured with the “pet bed.” Freaking adorable.
I like it a lot. The rug is classic. Congrats.
Very clean and very elegant. . .
OMG. What I wouldnt do for a kitchen like that! Your place ROCKS. 🙂 There is hope for us waiting to move out of our love shacks! LOL… xoxoxo

Congrats on the move, Erika! This place looks amazing!!
And I SO love that Bentley sleeps on a pillow under your bed! My cat totally sleeps on a pile of blankets on a shelf in my closet!
Love it!! I can’t wait to visit. It does look huge even from the first place you had that I was at. I’m sure it does feel like a mansion. Hardscape has his own man closet too because his Army stuff is so damn annoying:) I have the walk in closet, as every woman should!!
Congrats on the new place, it looks really spacious. 🙂 Your dog is such a cutie.
Beautiful! I love your rug – and Bentley’s bed.
That’s the first thing I zeroed in on. I’ve never seen any dog’s bed like that, it’s so creative and cozy.
i love the kitchen! I can’t wait to have counter space someday…
So pretty! Oh, and your outfit in that bathroom pic is quite adorable! =) Congrats on the new place and getting more space. SO important.
Congrats on the new home! Very exciting!
Ohhhh, I love the home office!!! That’s the #1 reason why our house is on the market right now. When we bought our starter home (3 BR/2.5 BA), we thought we had more than enough room… add two kids and a dog to the mix, and I’m working in a corner of my bedroom = not ideal!
Love the pictures; I’m a real estate junkie 🙂
Oh my gosh, it’s GORGEOUS! You did such a great job decorating 🙂
<—— Thank you…
Thanks for sharing! I totally agree that your living situation can have a big impact on relationships. People NEED space. I lived in a studio for 5 years (7 months with my now hubby) and I felt like I was being suffocated. We were on top of each other…literally!! Day to day life is so much better when you are okay with your home. Looks good.
It looks so great! I bet it feels like a mansion after living in the ‘shack’.
LOVE the rug in the living room.
LOVE the kitchen and the rug — but I love the husband’s caps lock retaliation statement most of all. 🙂
Lookin’ good!! Congrats; enjoy your new home 🙂
Oh my Gosh! I LOVE your new place!!! It is HUGE! And gorgeous! And you decorated it so wel!!! Can you come decorate mine? 😉 Did you buy a lot of new stuff or have some of this and I just don’t recognize? Can’t wait to visit!
This looks amazing! So excited for you guys.
Would you mind saying where you got your couch and dining table & chairs? We are looking for ones just like those, but getting a lot of sticker shock from looking at furniture prices!
So happy for you…I know how much you were dying to get out of “The Shack”. : )
So cute. Where did you get your bed? Love that you use one of the compartments for Bentley’s bed.
I also want to know where you got your bed! We’re looking for one and I love the compartments that yours has.
Nice place – as a renter, I am really jealous. 🙂
Your place looks gorgeous. So good to hear that you are happier here.
Your place loos gorgeous. So good to hear that you are so much happier here.
This is amaaaazing E!!!!! I am sooooo excited for BF and I to get our own little “mansion”. Seriously, anything will be HEAVEN after living in a shack too. Maybe everyone should experience living in a shack and going permanent camping, so that they will appreciate a “mansion” – meaning a small place but still larger than the size of a tent haha.
These pics make me really happy because I seriously can’t wait until the day that it is my turn! Your place looks so cozy. If I’m ever in the OC I’m spending the night next to Bentley. I’ll bring my dog Booboo and we can all have a slumber partay!
THIS IS ERIC, THE HUSBAND. IF YOU ARE WONDERING WHY THERE ARE DIRTY CLOTHES IN MY CLOSET IT IS BECAUSE OF MY INJURED BACK… You should ask her to take a picture of the floor of her closet not just the hangers!
Hahahhahaha hi Eric!!!!! Don’t worry, I like to call out my BF all the time too but your closet ain’t that bad! My BF’s looks like a tornado sped through it.
That’s great! I can’t wait to move somewhere more permanent, enjoy your new digs.
Congrats! Your house looks great – already decorated and everything!
Looks great! I’m so happy for you.
Congrats again!!!!
