Medicine is expensive. And one of the worst things is having to go to the store and buy medicine when you’re actually sick. So just like I like to stockpile my groceries, I also like to stockpile my medicine.
Within reason, of course. I don’t want it to expire and I try really hard to get a good variety of medicine so we’re always prepared. I know some hippie people are all about being getting through it on their own, but not me. “The more drugs, the better” is my motto.
Walgreens has been a great option for our family to help us get better while also being kind to our wallets.
For example, this week at Walgreens Bengay is on sale for $5.99. With a $5 off 1 coupon from the Sunday paper, you can purchase it for $1. Eric uses this stuff to ease his muscles after a hard workout. Walgreens also has Ricola Drops on sale for $1.29 (with a Walgreens in-ad coupon). Combine the Walgreens coupon with a $.50 cents off 1 coupon and you can score cough drops for $.79. Perfect in time for fall colds.
I like to keep a supply of a variety of medicines in our medicine cabinet because staying healthy is important for our family wellness. Eric can’t afford to be sick right now. Every time he misses a day of school, he has to make it up on Saturdays. Not fun. For us, family wellness means getting exercise, staying fit, and eating lots of vegetables. But sometimes we tend to get sick anyway. And in that case, Walgreens is always perfect for helping us get better.
I love combining Walgreens ads with regular manufacturer’s coupons to get the most bang for my buck. It’s even better when they include a Register Reward, which is a printout at the end of your receipt which you can use just like cash to buy other items in the store!

I can’t believe you sold out like this. Who wants to read about walgreens when we can just look at the ad in the Sunday paper? I used to enjoy reading your blog, not so much anymore.
I worked for Walgreens for three years during high school and college summers. My mom is the Hallmark coordinator for three Walgreens stores. Let’s just say that Walgreens is a part of my family for sure!
I just passed my 1st anniversary, and really enjoy your blog! I just started my own about my journey in living an active, healthy life! I’d welcome all tips/suggestions you have!
