Ever have those moments where you feel like life is good but there’s nothing new to report?
I’ve been feeling like that. My life is moving along swimmingly. (sidenote: I wonder why the word swimmingly means “effortless” because if you’ve ever been a competitive swimmer, you know it’s not effortless at all but a killer workout instead)
There’s no drama, no friends I’m fighting with, I haven’t argued with my mom in a long time (have I finally outgrown it?), Eric and I haven’t had one of our silly fights, I actually like my job…I mean the list of happy things just goes on and on.
But what happened to the drama? Quite honestly, I don’t really miss it. So I’m not going to complain that my life is so simple and easy going right now. Could we have more money? Sure. But we’re not destitute, we enjoy small things here and there, go on mini vacations and have a grand ole time most of the time.
This weekend, I went to happy hour with my friends Friday night, and three out of the four were married. We definitely clung on to our single friend for some dating drama. The excitement!
No, I don’t miss it, but it is fun to reminisce. On Saturday, Eric and I went to a co-ed baby shower. Talk about scary. The couple is the exact same age as us, but now they’re in a whole other ball game. And our other married couple friends are preggers, too. Babies are everywhere! On a sidenote, the baby shower had little mini diaper cakes as centerpieces, and I showed Eric how cute they were, and he asked me what they were. He didn’t know they were diapers…oh dear.
That evening, we went on a long walk with the only (furry) child we need in our life right now, watched Dexter, and then spent Sunday at my parents’ house, where I saved $10 by doing my laundry there rather than the laundromat. Life is good.
How was your weekend? Any drama? Let me live vicariously through you.

As someone who used to crave drama, I think it’s wonderful when things are simple. No vicarious drama thankfully!
Oh, and it’s not my drama, but guess which one of my Philly ex-boyfriends who’s still with his girlfriend has an active Match profile? Ewww!!!
Lol at the diaper cake! xoxo
YAY for no drama! I’m laughing that he didn’t recognize diapers. I don’t think my husband would know it either. And babies are everywhere around here too!
I think I need a puppy.
Things are like that right now. Life is so easy except for the money! We are trying hard to not stress out about it because there are other things that are more important. We are in a happy loving relationship, great friends and family! Its post like this that makes you realize everything you have! Thanks!
I found this to be a helpful link for the expression “swimmingly”

Sounds like life is good for you! Relish in it 😉
I have no new drama to report. Same old shit- pardon my French.
Although, I did accidentally lower DD’s truck window as I was getting out at the wedding reception we were shooting yesterday. We were there for like three hours and it was pouring and his brand new Highlander is soaked and all smelly inside. Let’s just say he is not happy with me and I will probably have to pay to have it professionally cleaned.
P.S. I love Dexter!
Three cheers for life going smoothly, right? It does make for less blog fodder though doesn’t it? 😉 Miss you guys, hope to be out in the next month or so! That’s something to blog about, no? Just kidding.
No drama to report over here but I totally relate to the living vicariously through single friends for a little bit of the nostalgia/excitement. Most of my friends are married now but recently saw a single friend and got to hear about her recent dating adventures. I don’t miss that phase of life but it’s definitely more interesting to talk about than what’s going on with me (which is, basically, nothing).
I’d never thought about it before, but man, why DOES “swimmingly” mean “effortlessly”?? I have done competitive swimming, and it IS hard!
I must find out now!
